WHY MOUNT10
NO, not a sale and also no merge! But we have decided to rename our company to MOUNT10 AG effectiv on 7/1/2010. This decision has the following background:
Why giving up the name SWISSVAULT?
Simply because the term “VAULT” generally remains unknown with in the German language - although many other English expressions have found their way into our culture. Many competitors from abroad are using “VAULT” in various combinations for their offering – we have often been understood as “VOLT” or even “FAULT”.
How do you pronounce MOUNT10?
We are using the English pronunciation „MOUNT-TEN“.
Why MOUNT10?
There are 2 good reasons for this brand name:

The data storage in the unique, underground datacenter SWISS FORT KNOX – our flagship has not been in the marketing spotlight enough so far. This has now been changed.

The combination from letters and numbers, its memorization as well as the force of expression from the wordplay MOUNT10 have fascinated us for a long time.
Why the number 10?
The wordplay (MOUNT-TEN) is in the prime focus. The number 10 however, is integral part of our company vision: In our ongoing expansion to all Europe, we have realized that a direct transfer of customer data from the actual IT-installation to the SWISS FORT KNOX is for legal reasons not suitable in all markets. We are therefore in negotiation with several operators of datacenters in the corresponding countries. As a result we will be in a position to backup a first country locally before transferring a mirror to the SWISS FORT KNOX. We are estimating that a total number of 10 datacenters (spread across all Europe) will be required to cover the entire market.
MOUNT10 existed already
This is correct – but it is already more than 10 years since. This brand has been used by another company with another offering. Our company has no relation to this entity. We have simply purchased the rights on the brand “MOUNT10”.
